Recall Alert: 2009 Nissan Sentra

Nov 04 2009 by Jennifer Newman

Nissan is recalling 10,586 Sentras from the 2009 model year that are equipped with Bosch master cylinders, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Brake fluid may leak from the master cylinder. If the amount of brake fluid falls below the minimum level, the brake system warning indicator will illuminate, as it’s supposed to, and the brakes won’t function properly. If the warning light is ignored, one of the brake circuits on the car could fail, which may increase stopping distances and the risk of a crash.

Nissan dealers will inspect and replace the master cylinder brake booster assembly free of charge. For more information, owners can call Nissan at 800-647-7261 or NHTSA’s hotline at 888-327-4236.

Recall Alert: 2010 Jaguar XF

Jaguar is recalling 2,131 XF sedans from the 2010 model year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The sedan is being recalled because the fuel transfer pipe in the fuel tank may be kinked.

This could restrict fuel being transferred from one side of the fuel tank to the fuel pump and cause fuel starvation at low fuel levels. Fuel starvation could cause the engine to stall without warning and potentially cause a crash.

Jaguar dealers will have the fuel tank assembly repaired free of charge. For more information, call Jaguar at 800-452-4827 or NHTSA’s hotline at 888-327-4236.
