The Magic of Grandma’s House; Parenting.com
Blogger Kathryn Thompson of DaringYoungMom.com recently visited the most magical place on earth: Grandma’s house. It’s a place where the kids get to goof off instead of go to sleep, and the candy jar is always filled and within reach. My family recently took a trip to Meema (aka Grandma) and Papa’s house. My boys had a blast there, and my parents did, too. I think my husband and I had the best time, though — we got to sleep in every day. Magical, indeed.

Um, Ouch; Notes From the Trenches
Blogger Chris Jordan recently received a hate note from her daughter. “Though technically she doesn’t hate me. She does, however, ‘hat’ me. I found the notes and said, ‘Oh my goodness. You HAT me? Does that mean you want to buy me a HAT?’ ” While I haven’t received any hate — or hat — notes from my 6-year-old, my husband and I did recently receive a note from him that read “Good job Mom and Dad.” I’m sure he’ll be sending in his criticisms soon enough.

Life List: Rough Draft Volume 3; Suburban Bliss
I like to make lists, mainly because I love the feeling of crossing off a completed task. My co-worker is often amused by my list-making and the many Post-It Notes scattered around my desk with various lists on them. So it should be no surprise that I liked this post by blogger Melissa Summers. I’d like to start my own life list, but I’m not sure I have a big enough Post-It for the task.
