Smelling Books, NieNie Dialogues
Blogger Stephanie Nielson of the NieNie Dialogues reminisces as she fills out a book-fair flier from her daughters’ school. Stephanie’s blog has always celebrated motherhood and family, but after surviving an airplane crash in August 2008 that left her with burns on 80 percent of her body, her blog now revels in the little things most of us take for granted. Some Thoughts on Food Service, Melanie in Orygun
After losing her job, blogger Mel has been helping out at a friend’s restaurant. She’s compiled a list of not-so-friendly reminders to use our best manners whenever we go out. “The customer is always right. Except when the customer gets abusive or calls me stupid. Then the customer is asked to find another place to take their custom,” she writes.

Messy Car Contest, Parenting.com
It’s happened again … my efforts to keep my family car clean (I’d settle for not so messy) have been thwarted. Cheetos, french fries, napkins and the car’s tire jack currently litter the passenger seat area, and I’m too afraid to look at the backseat. I was feeling the compulsion to clean the car this weekend — until I stumbled across these photos in Parenting.com’s messy car contest. Turns out, my car’s not that bad after all.
