Mom Gives Birth in Car, Names Baby After Car

Mom Says Toyota Camry ‘Good for Everything — Including Childbirth’
Babies are born every day; babies are born in cars, well, not as often. But it’s unusual that a mom praises the car she just gave birth in.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Leslie Russell’s contractions started out as mild and sporadic. Anyone who’s had more than one kid knows that’s the only warning you’re gonna get most of the time. Twelve hours later, Leslie’s contractions got going, and they got going quickly. Leslie’s mom drove her to the hospital just in time for Leslie to have the baby in their Toyota Camry’s front seat. Fortunately, a pediatrician hopped into the front seat to help deliver the baby safely.
The best part of this story though, is Leslie’s quote: “I said, ‘I can’t have a baby in the car!’ But apparently you can because Toyota’s are really reliable vehicles. They’re good for everything — including childbirth.”
And the baby? She’s a healthy little girl named Claire Camryn Russell Vincent — Camryn is a tribute to her birthplace. Congratulations to Leslie, Claire Camryn and Toyota!

In 2003 I too delivered my daughter in the front seat of our Toyota Camry while my husband was speeding down the highway. We named her Olivia Camry and we still have the car!
Oh my gosh, does Toyota know of all these amazing Camry births?!
Maybe they have something there! Maybe we can add riding in a Camry to the list of ways to induce labor, along with spicy food, jumping up and down and sex. Of course, some of those are more fun than others…
