Joke Product Could Have a Real Place in Mom’s Life
Jul 14 2009 by Jennifer Newman
When I’m driving around with my kids, I always think of products I wish someone would invent for the car: a Plexiglas divider to separate me and my husband from the kids and their DVDs during long road trips, for one, or a force-field contraption that would keep toys and juice boxes off the car floor. Thanks to this funny MomLogic.com video, I now have a new product I want someone to make: the Nap-Be-Gone.
The Nap-Be-Gone is a long stick with a soft Nerf-like ball on the end that can be used to lightly jostle a child who’s about to fall asleep in the backseat. I don’t mind if my kids nap in the car when we’ll be driving for a while, but my boys have a knack for falling asleep when we’re 5 minutes away from home. With a Nap-Be-Gone, I could give them a gentle poke to help keep them awake. Just think — no more carrying my little guy into the house, only to have him wake up as I lay him down in his crib, and no more grouchy children annoyed that their naps were short-lived.
Since I don’t have a Nap-Be-Gone (unless I suddenly feel crafty and make one myself), I’ll have to use my time-tested method of saying my children’s names about a million times in an effort to keep them from falling asleep. I don’t, however, throw things at them, as they do in the Nap-Be-Gone video. Even I have my limits.

OMG I would buy this too. Would it be wrong just to bring some BBQ tongs and poke Carter with them when he’s about to dose 20 minutes from home, 30 minutes before a nap? Would it?
