Website Helps You Get Paid to Drive Your Car

Nov 17 2008 by Sara Lacey

My friend Laura was looking to earn a little extra cash and stumbled across iFreeAuto.com , an advertising service that will hook you up with advertisers (“partners”) who will pay you to drive around with their ads on your car. Well, who wouldn’t love that? So I figured I’d do some research and enlighten Laura, and everyone else, in the process.

With iFreeAuto.com, you can earn $300 to $3,000 a month, depending on which advertiser you contract with, to drive your ad-wrapped car around. In some cases, iFreeAuto.com’s partners might give you a free car to drive. Also, you get to decide which advertisers you want to work with. But you’ll still pay for your own gas and car insurance.

I attempted to sign up for iFreeAuto.com’s service. The website says that you can sign up for a week and if you’re not satisfied, you can get your money back. Wait, money back? What money?
Yep, I’d have to pay for a membership in order to get hooked up with these advertising partners; a five-year membership is $45, a one-year membership is $33 and a six-month membership is $27. To be eligible for the program, you need to be 18 or older, have a good driving record and a valid driver’s license. Before handing over any money, I decided to email iFreeAuto.com for more information. While I waited for a reply, I did a Google search for iFreeAuto.com, and I didn’t find any negative reviews of the company. The upside of a Google search is that if anyone has anything nasty to say about an experience they’ve had with a company, the internet makes it pretty easy to find.

In an email from Noel (no last name) at iFreeAuto.com, she told me that all people have to do to get their money back is send her an email that says they’re not satisfied with the service. She has been very responsive to my emails, but that’s all I’ve to go on, my friends. Noel also told me via email that I can get a free six-month membership by completing an offer through TrialPay.com (the other advertiser will pay me via free subscription to iFreeAuto.com).

So here’s what I have to go on: IFreeAuto.com is a service you pay for before you fill out the application. If you don’t like the service, you must trust that iFreeAuto.com employee Noel (or maybe one of her co-workers) will give you your money back. If you’re OK with that and decide to pay for the service, you might get connected with an advertiser that you’d feel comfortable working with. If you agree to work with the advertiser, you will get paid anywhere from $300 to $3,000 a month to drive your car with an advertisement on it, or, if you’re the right kind of applicant, you get a new car with an ad on it to drive around. If you want to get a free membership, you have to go to some other vendor’s website and do their exercises to get paid with a membership to iFreeAuto.com.

Ultimately, this exercise proves to me that I don’t have the stomach for hardcore investigative journalism. And that I’m not really into jumping through hoops. Have you joined iFreeAuto.com or something like it? Do you have advice to share? Tell us about it in the comments section.

I have tried couple of these companies few years ago and nothing happened. All I can say is, they are all scam and you will never get your money back. Because I have not got anything back.

I tried and signed up with a similar company about a year ago. There was no fee but I never heard from anyone. I have seen cars with ads drive around my town, whether they are part of a program like this I don’t know.

Sara Lacey why don’t you investigate some more?
