Ford Taurus X Obituary
Dec 10 2008 by Sara Lacey
Ford plans to cease production of the Taurus X this spring. It’s a sad day for many families, as well as the mom-reviewers at MotherProof.com, where services were held today for the dearly departed Ford Taurus X. This crossover pioneer’s life was short, but it showed families they could have a car with minivan features and good-looking styling.
The Ford Flex eulogized its mentor, saying, “She taught me everything I know about flexible seating and abundant storage. She’ll be truly missed.” Off the record, the Flex confessed that she felt a little guilty that her popularity may have pushed her mentor closer toward obscurity.
The Taurus X started its life as the Ford Freestyle, but she became the Taurus X after she gained a bigger engine and some chrome accents. She had power-folding second-row seats, and capping off a lifetime of growth and adaptation, she earned a Top Safety Pick nod from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
MotherProofer Emily Hansen said in her 2008 Taurus X review, “I found the Taurus X to be one fantastic crossover.”
The Taurus X is survived by the Ford Flex. Her DNA can be found in other crossovers such as the Mazda CX-9, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Chevy Traverse.
May she rest in peace.

Funny, good to have a sense of humor!!
