GoGirl Makes it Easier to Go, on the Go

Sep 02 2009

With the GoGirl handy, women can avoid crowded, disgusting, distant — think road trip in the middle of nowhere — or non-existent bathrooms. The GoGirl website claims, “You won’t be like a man. You’ll just pee like one.” I wonder if this means that I’ll write my name in the snow with it if I use it while skiing.

Zimride.com Makes Creating Carpools Painless

Aug 26 2009

Zimride.com grew from a free Facebook application that leveraged people’s networks to help them find carpools into a small company. The site allows users to set up carpools with like-minded folk. It seems like Match.com for carpoolers, doesn’t it?

Parking Pal Helps Active Toddler Stay Put in Parking Lot

Aug 25 2009

Until all vehicles are equipped with rearview cameras and all drivers remember to pay careful attention in parking lots (and on that note, until pigs fly), the Parking Pal is a great aid in keeping your child safer in parking lots.

2010 Nissan Armada

Aug 17 2009

During my two-week test drive of the 2010 Nissan Armada, I liked almost everything about the full-size SUV. However, I’ll never buy one -- not until its gas mileage improves. The Armada’s whoop-de-don’t fuel economy numbers are 12/18 mpg city/highway; they’re underwhelming, to say the least.

Best Buy Selling Small Electric Vehicles

Aug 13 2009

Everyone has an image of what they think mom-mobiles are and should be, but in reality moms are driving some cool and different vehicles these days. And Best Buy is branching out into the cutting edge of environmental friendliness as it begins to sell green vehicles.

Ford’s MyKey is MyKind of Feature

Aug 06 2009

My kids are far from driving age, but Ford’s MyKey has me thinking about when they do become teenage drivers. MyKey uses a programmable key that allows parents to encourage their teen drivers to drive more safely and efficiently by limiting the car’s top speed to 80 mph.

Sprout Shell Makes Life on the Go Easy on Mom, Baby

Jul 30 2009

Whenever another new baby product hits the market promising to be all things to all people, I’m skeptical. The Sprout Shell is one such product; it purports to be an infant-safety seat cover, a nursing cover and a shopping cart cover all in one stylish piece of cloth.

2009 Chevrolet Aveo5

Jul 16 2009

The Aveo5 feels like driving a go-kart. Colorado has just a few hills; the Aveo5 managed them, but only after I cut a hole in the floorboards and had my husband Flintstone-foot our way up.

2009 Ford Edge

Jul 02 2009

The 2009 Ford Edge is the widest vehicle in its class, at 75.8 inches. No wonder I found myself asking if this car made me look fat. Needless to say, my hubby couldn’t park his car in the garage while the Rubenesque Edge was in there.

Beco Baby Carrier Makes Life on the Go Easy

Jun 26 2009

I’m often running late and can’t bother to put my deluxe stroller into the car. When I use the Beco Baby Carrier, I don’t miss my stroller at all. I can carry my infant daughter or my toddler son (it carries children from 7 to 45 pounds), which is a huge bonus, and it’s quite stylish.
