Sherrice's bio

Sherrice Gilsbach: bio

MP: What’s your family situation?
We’re a small family - just my two boys (ages 7 and 4), my hubby and me. Although, as many moms of boys know, it often feels like much more.

MP: What is your current mom-mobile?
My trusty, fuel-efficient 2001 Saturn SL 1. She’s an oldie, but a goody.

MP: Do you have a favorite test-car feature?
Well, as my normal car is quite old, just about any feature excites me. My No. 1 favorite, though, is heated seats.

MP: When you’re not driving your family around, what are you doing?
Cleaning and cooking take up a bunch of time every day. I know it’s lame, but somebody’s got to do it. I do manage to fit in play time and reading time with the kids, as well as writing time for me, every day. I also hope that travel fills some of my days - by plane, of course, not car.

MP: If you were auditioning for a TV show, what show and role would you try out for?
I would love to be a host of the PBS favorite "Globe Trekker." All the hosts are a bit crazy, and they get to travel the world and tell us all about it. In reality, though, I could never tolerate the diverse cuisine they enjoy while out and about. You know, bugs and animal brains. No thanks.

MP: What’s your favorite indulgence?
There are too many, and I don’t feel guilty about any of them - usually. I love junk food. Love it. I also enjoy getting away from the fam once in a while, to have dinner with the girls, travel for MotherProof.com or just hit the grocery store by myself. I’ll take any of the above to keep me in touch with myself. Why not -- after all, I’m kinda fun!

MP: What do your kids love about your job?
Convertibles. In the short time I’ve been with MotherProof.com, my kids have become bigger car snobs than me. My 4-year-old now points out BMWs to people. At least it’s helping him learn his alphabet, right?

MP: What beverage lives in your cupholder?
Oh, this is sad. Nothing. I’m perpetually dehydrated. It used to be coffee, but I’ve given that up.

MP: Where was your favorite family vacation?
We haven’t taken any major trips with our kids yet, though we do head up north several times each year to take advantage of Michigan’s beautiful beaches, forests and tourist towns. I’ll admit that I’m truly frightened by the thought of being trapped on a long flight with my little ones. They need and enjoy space - lots of abundant, horizonless space.
