SoYoung Mother Diaper Bag Keeps My Life, Stuff Organized
May 19 2009 by Courtney Messenbaugh
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve lost my car keys, I’d be a rich woman. Of course, they’re never really lost; they’re usually buried in my diaper bag, only to be found if I empty out the whole darn thing. Catherine SoYoung Choi, creator of the SoYoung Mother diaper bag, is a woman who has felt my lost-keys pain.
Choi created the SoYoung Mother diaper bag to help mothers everywhere. That sounds like a tall order, doesn’t it? This bag was designed to stop the “discom-babe-ulation” (her word, not mine, but catchy, isn’t it?) or stress caused by black-hole bags.
The SoYoung Mother diaper bag passes the style test, which is always the first hurdle, and it’s full of wondrous features. It’s shallow-bottomed, which keeps it from turning into a bottomless pit, and the many interior pockets are made of a mesh material, so you can check out what’s in there with a glance. There’s also an insulated cooler bag for drinks and snacks; a dedicated cell-phone pocket on the bag’s exterior, which makes for easy access; stroller straps that I also used as handy key holders; a shoulder strap if you want to use it messenger-style; and a place to store bulky items such as a baby blanket. It also comes with a changing pad and a “don’t-forget” list. When I used the SoYoung Mother diaper bag, I was able to get into my car each day feeling more confident than usual that I had everything I needed, including the keys to start the car.
Even though I like how this bag improves my good mommy-ness, I’d really like to focus on how it improves my me-ness — or what it does for my life beyond kids since I still have one of those, and you should, too. Check it out:
• I haven’t wondered where my car keys are since getting this bag, which makes me happy.
• If my children ever get out of diapers, my laptop fits in this bag beautifully.
• My yoga mat fit in the bulky-item area perfectly, and my yoga clothes fit nicely inside the bag. I went to yoga feeling much more on-the-ball than usual and enjoyed an hour to myself.
If that doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will. The SoYoung Mother diaper bag sells for about $150; you can learn more at www.soyoungmother.com.
