Father’s Day Gift Ideas to Celebrate Dad

Let it never be said that MotherProof.com is exclusively for mamas. We have a wealth of male readers — many of whom are fathers — and we’re beholden to them. Gents, while we may not remember to give you a shout-out as often as we should, we truly appreciate you. Father’s Day is this Sunday, and in honor of all of you wonderful fathers out there, we’d like to offer up a few Father’s Day gift ideas.
Get the Gear
There’s a variety of car-themed gear on the market. If your man is a workaholic, get him the Mod Vespa Scooter mousepad for $16.99 and messenger bag for $24.99. If he’s into high-performance cars but you can’t afford an actual car, why not get him a Porsche key ring ($27.95) or baseball cap ($25.95) from Amazon.com?
Go Traditional With a Twist
For the well-dressed man, there are Indy Car cuff links ($150) at Cufflinks.com to keep his shirt sleeves looking polished. Or, if you don’t want to think too far out of the proverbial Father’s Day gift box, get your man a tie, but make it one from the official Ferrari store. They have a beautiful collection of ties ranging in price from about $75 to $110.
Low on Cash? Not a Problem
If money is tight, simply clean your guy’s car inside and out. Later that evening, rent a copy of “Bullitt,” “Days of Thunder” or any other fast-paced flick and hunker down for a couple of hours of automotive thrills. The cost will be minimal, but your guy’s gratitude will be priceless.
Put Dad in the Driver’s Seat
If you’re going to be in the Phoenix area for Father’s Day, a gift certificate for a driving course at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix is sure to impress the father on your list. There’s even a Father’s Day Rapid Precision Maneuvers program for $349 on Saturday. The RPM class features a timed autocross event as well as lead-and-follow time on the Bondurant track. All gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase. If Phoenix is too far away, consider looking in your area for similar high-performance driving programs.
