Review of the 2009 Toyota RAV4

2009 Toyota RAV4 - 4/23/09

MSRP: $21,500 - $27,810 | MPG: 26 Hwy, 22 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

What pushes the 2009 Toyota RAV4 into chick-car territory is the fact that the SUV can be described as “cute” or “small.” Instantly, all masculine street cred is kicked to the adorable pink curb of chick-cardom.

Review of the 2009 Land Rover LR2

2009 Land Rover LR2 - 3/12/09

MSRP: $35,375 - $35,375 | MPG: 22 Hwy, 15 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

The 2009 Land Rover LR2 had me at hello. That’s not to say it didn’t have a few minor shortcomings, but my fondness for this SUV easily outweighed them and we had a splendid week together.

Review of the 2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid

2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid - 2/24/09

MSRP: $28,160 - $28,160 | MPG: 32 Hwy, 25 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

Did you know there are two versions of the Saturn Vue Hybrid? The test car I drove was the Vue mild hybrid (although you wouldn’t know that from the not-so-mild stickers plastered all over it).

Review of the 2009 Suzuki XL7

2009 Suzuki XL7 Luxury - 2/09/09

MSRP: $25,595 - $29,680 | MPG: 23 Hwy, 17 City

Details: 7 Seats, 3 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

Suzuki has a little more work to do. There are pieces of the XL7 that are quite impressive, but it’s lacking in areas like performance and safety.

Review of the 2009 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 - 1/23/09

MSRP: $33,900 - $35,900 | MPG: 21 Hwy, 16 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

Having never seen one on the road, I couldn’t wait to drive carpool in the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 in my Manolos (if only), turning heads all the way.

Review of the 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee - 1/15/09

MSRP: $30,150 - $44,545 | MPG: 14 Hwy, 18 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

The Jeep Grand Cherokee easily provides ample room and comfort for a family of four without being too cumbersomely large. It’s comfortable and stylish without being obnoxiously overloaded, and it has a reassuring steadiness under the toughest road conditions.

Review of the 2009 Mazda Tribute

2009 Mazda Tribute Hybrid - 1/14/09

MSRP: $19,730 - $27,635 | MPG: 24 Hwy, 22 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

This SUV gets the job done quietly and smoothly, and I don’t really have a negative thing to say about it. Which is not to say that I fell in love.

Review of the 2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid

2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid - 1/09/09

MSRP: $30,090 - $31,840 | MPG: 27 Hwy, 34 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

My favorite new exterior feature in the 2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid is the capless fuel tank. It’s not a sexy choice, I know, but knowing that I can’t pull away from the pump with my gas cap on top of my car is somehow comforting to me.

Review of the 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan - 1/05/09

MSRP: $23,200 - $28,875 | MPG: 24 Hwy, 19 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

The 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan handled really well. It escaped the slippery slope that is my driveway with ease; it turned through snow-covered corners as though the road were clear and dry. During my test drive with the Tiguan, we had snow, sleet and rain, and I can honestly say that I didn’t feel the car slip once.

Review of the 2008 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 - 12/30/08

MSRP: $47,100 - $90,100 | MPG: 15 Hwy, 18 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

Even though it’s fuel-efficient and has cleaner emissions, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 is still a luxury vehicle. She’d spare nothing to prove it, as evidenced by the beautiful leather seats, wood-inlaid panels and more features than you can handle.
