Review of the 2008 Chevrolet Traverse

2009 Chevrolet Traverse LT - 12/18/08

MSRP: $29,255 - $41,965 | MPG: 23 Hwy, 17 City

Details: 8 Seats, 3 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

Before I even test-drove the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, I was already a bit of a fangirl of the Traverse’s “raining shoes” commercial. I’ve had the raining shoe dream, and each time I see that commercial I just smile. So kind of like Jerry Maguire, Chevy “had me at hello” with the Traverse’s marketing campaign

Review of the 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander

2008 Mitsubishi Outlander - 12/08/08

MSRP: $19,990 - $25,210 | MPG: 24 Hwy, 20 City

Details: 7 Seats, 3 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

The 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander is perfect for young adults. You know, the people who are on the verge of beginning their married and familial lives, but are still clutching to their coolness for all it’s worth. I think the Outlander would work for them, but it wasn’t a good fit for my family, especially my kids.

Review of the 2008 Acura RDX

2009 Acura RDX - 11/14/08

MSRP: $33,895 - $33,895 | MPG: 22 Hwy, 17 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

One of the more surprising things about motherhood is how two beings, sprung from the same font, can be so entirely different. They might look alike, but that’s as far as the resemblance goes. This is also true for Acura’s crossover siblings.

Review of the 2008 Nissan Murano

2009 Nissan Murano LE - 10/20/08

MSRP: $27,680 - $37,260 | MPG: 23 Hwy, 18 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

Both inside and out, the 2009 Murano is classy and sophisticated without being pretentious. I thoroughly enjoyed driving this car; the Murano’s ride is smooth and agile. There’s plenty of power behind the gas pedal, which provides that reassuring feeling we all enjoy during road trips.

Review of the 2008 Lexus RX 400h

2008 Lexus RX 400h - 10/17/08

MSRP: $42,080 - $43,480 | MPG: 24 Hwy, 27 City

Details: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors

The ’08 RX 400h is a luxury SUV hybrid that’s easy to drive and easy on the eyes. Sadly, this pricey little SUV seems a bit dated. The RX series hasn’t changed that much since it was introduced for the 1999 model year. That doesn’t mean it’s no good, it’s just not exactly cutting-edge.

Review of the 2008 Ford Flex

2009 Ford Flex - 8/21/08

MSRP: $28,295 - $36,555 | MPG: 22 Hwy, 17 City

2009 Ford Flex

There are a few things that people either really like or really dislike: black licorice, “Teletubbies,” the president … oh, never mind that, but the Ford Flex seems to fit into this category as well.

Review of the 2008 Volkswagen Tiguan

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan - 8/18/08

MSRP: $23,200 - $32,940 | MPG: 24 Hwy, 19 City

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan

I’m not a flashy person, so the idea of quiet elegance — having all the luxury I need without bragging about it — is why I love the Tiguan, Volkswagen’s new compact crossover.

Review of the 2008 Nissan Murano

2009 Nissan Murano - 5/16/08

MSRP: $26,870 - $36,450 | MPG: 23 Hwy, 18 City

2009 Nissan Murano

In the interest of full disclosure, I should let you know that I own a 2006 Nissan Murano. It’s sporty and has black leather seats, and those two things alone make it feel like a very different vehicle from the 2009 I recently tested. It’s almost as if the old Murano went and had a “procedure” or two done.

Review of the 2008 Mazda CX-7

2008 Mazda CX-7 - 5/01/08

MSRP: $23,750 - $28,000 | MPG: 22 Hwy, 17 City

Mazda CX-7

I have a pair of comfy, weathered, totally fashionable Frye boots that I consider the most versatile accessory in my closet. After driving it for a few days, I decided the 2008 Mazda CX-7 is just like these favorite boots. It’s practical, stylish and very versatile.

Review of the 2008 Audi Q7

2008 Audi Q7 - 3/12/08

MSRP: $42,500 - $58,600 | MPG: 17 Hwy, 14 City

2008 Audi Q7

I live in L.A., where you are what you drive. Angelinos spend hours in their cars fighting traffic, working and judging other drivers by their cars. We don’t have school buses; we drive our kids to school and get in line to parade our four-wheeled identities past the other PTA moms, like pageant queens on a runway.
