2009 Chrysler Town and Country Limited - 8/05/09
MSRP: $26,340 - $36,780 | MPG: 23 Hwy, 17 CityDetails: 7 Seats, 3 Rows, 3 Latch Connectors
For me, a minivan is a vehicular vacation; it takes no effort to open or close its doors, and it has fun features and plenty of space for the whole family. The 2009 Chrysler Town & Country I tested is no exception to this experience; however, it’s more of an all-inclusive resort as opposed to a vacation I’d plan on my own.
Kia is known for delivering a lot of car for a little price. When I jumped into the boxy cuteness of the 2009 Borrego, I was ready to be pleasantly surprised by its value-added price tag. Surprise! It’s not that much less expensive than many three-row SUVs. Bummer!
Everyone has an opinion about the 2009 Scion xB, and it was fun to hear them during my test drive. This distinctive hatchback was compared to a breadbox, a mailbox and other boxes—but people, I loved it. I loved its design, shape and funky style.

2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited - 7/21/09
MSRP: $34,700 - $41,020 | MPG: 25 Hwy, 27 CityDetails: 7 Seats, 3 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors
The 2009 Highlander Hybrid is an SUV full of contradictions. After a week of hard use by my crack team of vehicular testers — aka my family — all the contradictions boiled down to one irrefutable truth: The HiHy (as we like to call it) is one great family-mobile.

2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 - 7/16/09
MSRP: $11,965 - $15,365 | MPG: 34 Hwy, 27 CityDetails: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors
The Aveo5 feels like driving a go-kart. Colorado has just a few hills; the Aveo5 managed them, but only after I cut a hole in the floorboards and had my husband Flintstone-foot our way up.

2009 Mercedes-Benz R320 BlueTec - 7/13/09
MSRP: $47,650 - $49,150 | MPG: 19 Hwy, 18 CityDetails: 6 Seats, 3 Rows, 4 Latch Connectors
This car is close to becoming the ultimate luxury mom-mobile, and it’s glamorously green with its new diesel technology, too. This crossover is so luxurious and comfortable that calling it a station wagon is just plain insulting.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe - 7/09/09
MSRP: $22,000 - $29,500 | MPG: 26 Hwy, 21 CityDetails: 4 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors
Although the Genesis coupe certainly isn’t built as a typical mom-mobile, there are plenty of atypical moms in the world looking for their automotive match. Read on, dear friends, and see if the Genesis coupe from Hyundai might fit the bill.

2009 Nissan 370Z Sport - 7/07/09
MSRP: $29,930 - $39,130 | MPG: 26 Hwy, 18 CityDetails: 2 Seats, 1 Rows, 0 Latch Connectors
Only $30,000 and soon available as a convertible? Why, oh why can’t Nissan squeeze in a backseat and all-wheel drive??
The 2009 Ford Edge is the widest vehicle in its class, at 75.8 inches. No wonder I found myself asking if this car made me look fat. Needless to say, my hubby couldn’t park his car in the garage while the Rubenesque Edge was in there.

2009 Porsche Cayenne GTS - 6/30/09
MSRP: $44,600 - $123,600 | MPG: 17 Hwy, 14 CityDetails: 5 Seats, 2 Rows, 2 Latch Connectors
The 2009 Porsche Cayenne is really two cars rolled into one. It’s a sports car and a luxury car. It’s an expensive, high-end SUV with a lovely design that no one notices until after you’re gone. It’s a looker but not an attention hog.
