Supercar to the Rescue for Desperate Gift-Givers

I am constantly struggling to find the perfect gift for my hubby on birthdays and holidays. Should I buy another sweater? What does he really want? One year he told me he was dying to learn to play the guitar, so I ingeniously bought him a series of lessons from a local music school. That was four years ago, the certificate has since expired and he can’t play a single note on the guitar. I have an awful gift track record.

Until recently, that is, when I heard about Supercar Life. It’s perfect. He’ll love it.

Supercar Life offers you the chance to drive some of the world’s coolest cars on a private racetrack at speeds you normally wouldn’t get to go (without being thrown in the slammer). The cars in the lineup include a Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Aston Martin DB9, Mercedes CLK63 AMG and Porsche Turbo 997. The professional drivers on staff guide you through the process safely and quickly so you can fully appreciate the driving experience.

What track experience would be complete without your own hostess to make sure your needs are met? Supercar doesn’t specify what exactly the hostesses’ roles are, but assures there will be at least one assigned to every five participants. Hmmmm … a hostess? Don’t pretend your mind isn’t going where mine went. Is “hostess” just another word for the bimbos in bikinis who are ubiquitous at racetracks? How thoughtful. Maybe this isn’t the best gift idea for my husband after all…

No, no, I’m strong and he’s trustworthy. What’s a little skin on the track going to harm? This is a good gift idea, and it’s all about fun, for crying out loud! I think my husband would love getting his hands on the — uh — cars, learning how to drive them at their peak performance and blasting around the track.

From meals to insurance to professional coaches to, ahem, hostesses, Supercar Life says it has you covered. And gosh darn it, my husband is worth it — at least, that was my tune until I discovered how much it actually costs (I must remember that we are suburban parents on a budget, people). A track day runs $4,990 per person, so let’s just call it $5K, shall we? I know that includes an awesome experience, but I think my husband is going to get another sweater this year. Sorry, babe! I tried.

So, you searched for the perfect gift; you found the perfect gift (hostesses included!) and you didn’t get it for your husband.
I hope my wife does better!

You could try a racing school like Skip Barber. I don’t think they’re this much and probably a lot more instructional/useful.

I’m pretty sure Skip doesn’t provide bikini clad bimbos.  Defeats the whole purpose smile
