Light-hearted Video Helps With Car-Buying Process
Are you about to embark on buying a new car? I am, too. Well, I am in a year, but time can fly, and I’m already thinking about what I want and how to get it. This 5-minute video on how to buy a car is very helpful, and funny, too!
In his video presentation at an Ignite Seattle conference, Rob Gruhl, who claims to be one of the few people who enjoys buying a new car, gives advice on how to get the car you want for the price you want. While some of the information might not be new (such as sell your car independently), it’s good to hear it reiterated. He also gives some interesting tips, including allowing two weekends for the car-buying process and calling the dealership to find out the “drive-it-off-the-lot” price (not the invoice price, but the final price including fees, taxes and other hidden costs). It’s important to find out exactly how much you’re going to write the check for before you go to the dealership. And, oh yeah, Gruhl says to make sure the dealership actually has the car you want on the lot before you go.
One of the things I liked about the video is that Gruhl reminds you to walk away when you aren’t getting the deal you want. We all know we should do this, but it’s so hard to walk away when you’ve invested time and energy into the process (but it’s easier when you’ve given yourself two weekends to do the deal).
Anything that helps me feel better about the car-buying process is a real gem. I’m happy to hear Gruhl’s insights, and hope to employ his advice when I get ready to buy a car.
MotherProof.com has its own videos to help you with the car-buying process, including how to prepare, terms to know, features to look for and how to take a test drive.

OK, so I watched and I actually enjoyed! That guys is fun to watch and he has so great points. I especially like that “you will feel like an @$$hole” bit, with corresponding slide. Nice.
