Yoga CD Helps Mom Relax on the Road
Jan 15 2009 by Courtney Messenbaugh
After finding myself driving like a maniac and later feeling frazzled while sitting in a meeting the other day, I decided I needed some help. I turned to Jen Swain’s “Yoga in the Car” CD to help me relax while on the road.
Jen created this CD to keep your hands on the wheel, your eyes open, and your body and mind stress-free.
“No one is twisting into a pretzel here,” Jen says. “Yoga can be done anywhere, by anyone in some form and in their own way.”
Jen’s voice sounds just like that of a good girlfriend — friendly and warm — as she instructs you to roll your shoulders, stretch out your neck and take long, deep breaths. On this CD, breathing is the central theme, as it is in any other yoga class, and it’s amazing what the reminder to breathe can do for your automotive experience. I’ve even tested this CD’s effectiveness while under siege from two crying children, and it works! There are also suggested moves that can help relax your hips, legs and feet. The CD ends with four instrumental tracks that are groovy enough to add a little spring to your step once you reach your destination.
Remember, however, that this CD was created for bumper-to-bumper traffic. You should always keep your eyes on the road, your hands on the wheel, your seat belt fastened and your mind open. I think you’ll find that getting your yoga groove on in the car will allow you to “om” the road like never before.
