Gadget Keeps Shopping Carts Close to Car

If you’ve ever had to contort your body to keep your shopping cart from rolling away while you unload it, the Cart-Stopper is for you. It’s another one of those simple-yet-brilliant ideas that I wish I’d come up with.
The Cart-Stopper has a suction cup that attaches to your car and a latch on the other end that helps keep shopping carts next to your car. A stiff piece of pipe sits between the two ends, and it keeps the cart steady at a scratch-free distance from your car. Genius, I tell you!
Dyanne Houlihan, the Cart-Stopper creator, came up with this product after a harrowing experience. She placed her youngest son into a grocery cart, then turned to help her older child unbuckle his seat belt. In that brief moment, the grocery cart rolled away from her car and into oncoming traffic. No one was hurt, but Dyanne was shaken up. Just imagine the nightmares after that! Well, she did more than just freak out about it — she invented the Cart-Stopper. Problem solved!
It’s a great idea, but does it work? The directions say to attach the suction cup to a clean, flat surface of your car. Maybe it’s just me, but clean surfaces are hard to come by in my world. The Cart-Stopper wasn’t fazed by my dusty mobile; the suction cup stuck on with no problem. I was also concerned that the latch wouldn’t hold a variety of carts, but it held all kinds, including those made with thick pieces of plastic.
The Cart-Stopper actually does what it’s supposed to do. The whole thing is only a couple of inches long and can live in my car’s trunk from now on.
I am so glad I found this! I just bought it! Thank you! I have 3 boys under 5 and it is a contant struggle to get them in and out of the cart without having it roll away!!
