What’s Wrong With Loving a Cupholder?
Mar 05 2008
Does Caddy not want us cupholder-oriented women as customers? Are non-cupholder girls sexier? Because if that’s the case, Caddy, don’t use sex appeal to get me to like your horsepower and available features, try making a car that actually fits a “different kind of woman.”
Mom-Chauffeur’s Dream: A Driverless Car
Feb 15 2008
I’ve written before about how nice it would be to have a chauffeur. Well, it seems that pipe dream may not be as far-fetched as it appears. The way technology is advancing, in a few years I may not even need another person to drive me around.
Luster of iPod Rubs Off in Car
Jan 24 2008
Santa was good to me this year; I found a brand-spanking new iPod Touch under the tree on Christmas morning. Yeah! You name it, this thing can do it. I love it, and naturally I’d like to have access to all its perks in my car, too (cue screeching-halt sound effect).

I spotted a friend’s vehicle with the telltale all-doors-wide-open look. This was part of a desperate airing-out effort after another case of nasty milk stench caused by a NOT SO spill-proof sippy cup. Here are a few tips if you happen to encounter this dreadful problem yourself.

I just bought an iPhone. I love everything it can do, but I also kind of hate it. My experience with the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country was much the same.
Purging Parallel-Parking Panic
Nov 12 2007
My friend recently broke out in a visible sweat when faced with the prospect of parallel parking her minivan. Well, the engineers at Nissan have come up with a way to eliminate parking dread. The Around View Monitor uses four cameras and software that takes the view from each one and mashes it up into a full bird’s-eye view of the car.

They say OnStar is deeply committed to safety. “Yes,” I say, “but isn’t OnStar’s true purpose helping Kelly Ripa find her way to a posh NYC day spa?” Well, Kelly is a paid spokesperson, but there are plenty of other experts who say OnStar can do much more than that.
Does Anybody Actually Use Their Sunroof?
Sep 13 2007
I think I’ve only opened my sunroof about a dozen times since buying my car. When the day is just too glorious to go without, I get a wild urge and open the glass, yet within moments I’m so annoyed by the noise, sun and reverberation that I hit the express close button. When did this happen? Do you use the sunroof in your car?
Hidden Secrets of Navigation Systems
Jun 25 2007
Mom geeks are hip! I have noticed this trend in my own mommy-circles; black rimmed glasses and moms hanging out with their laptops at the coffee shop. As geeks or geek-wannabes, there are many moms out there who love having cool gadgets in their cars. One that epitomizes the move towards nerd city is the in-car navigation system.
