Divide the Ride Helps You Carpool

Site Helps Put Mama Back Together Again
It's a common drill: Mom has to be at soccer practice, tae kwon do and gymnastics all at the same time. It seems like the more kids a mom has, the more delicate her balancing act becomes. It's like a nightmarish version of tug of war: Limbs are being tugged in opposite directions, like Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. Failure always seems to loom, and it's only a matter of time before it all unravels.
Well, I've got good news for you — life maybe just got a little less complicated for overscheduled, activity-bound families. Divide The Ride (dividetheride.com) is a free online carpooling planner created by parents for parents. It's simple and secure because it only incorporates families you pick. Spread the word and everyone can input their schedules and carpool availability on the website. Throw in a little bit of software magic, and the website spits out an all-encompassing calendar for everyone. Reminders and notifications are automatically sent to the entire posse via email and cell phone so everyone is in the loop. Of course, only the participants in your group are privy to details such as pick-up and drop-off times and destinations.
Voila! Not only can you save yourself a bundle of time and some money on gas, but you can also celebrate the fact that you've gone a little greener. Oh, and maybe, just maybe, you've minimized that mama's-got-to-be-everywhere tug of war just a bit.

That’s such a great idea! Is it specific to one area? How many people are using it, I wonder…
