Information Form Could Save You a Lot of Stress
Imagine this scenario: It’s bone-chillingly cold outside, snowing like mad, and all you want is to get yourself and your overtired brood home pronto, after a last-minute grocery-store run (for milk, of course). As you roll along, a car appears out of nowhere and slams into you.
Everyone is fine except for some shattered nerves, but your heart is pounding fiercely and the kids in back are whimpering — “Mommy, my sippy cup fell down” — shouting — “Hey, Mommy, we got in an accident!” — and screaming — “I want to go home NOW!” Flurries of thoughts go through your mind: “Please tell me this did not just happen. I need a miracle to keep the kids calm while I deal with this. I should have left the stilettos at home and brought a pair of winter boots. Where are my blasted gloves? I knew I should have trekked back into the grocery store and changed the poopy diaper when I had the chance.”
Lucky for you, you’re one prepared mama, so you reach into your glove box and pull out an accident information form. You gather all the required information from the other driver without forgetting a single thing (WOW), and get your frazzled self and gang home immediately, without further ado. Bear in mind, though, that if you’re in an accident you should be sure to get police involved right away, as many insurance companies require a police report to process a claim. While you should get all of the information asked for on our form, a police report can be a crucial part of the process.
Although this is just a hypothetical situation, scenes like it happen all the time. So, in the name of preparedness, do yourself a favor and print out the form below to minimize hassles associated with collisions. Accidents never happen at a convenient time, especially not when kids are factored into the mix.
